Sofitel Sydney Wentworth Reopens Following A70 Mil Refurbishment
The luxurious Sofitel Sydney Wentworth has recently completed a spectacular year-long renovation, making it one of the most sought-after five-star hotels in Sydney’s bustling CBD. The A$70 million ($61.5 million) renovation was led by the renowned Australia-based interior design firm, FK. With 436 beautifully appointed rooms, the hotel offers guests a truly opulent experience.
One of the major highlights of the renovation is the refurbishment of guest rooms, which now boast high-end fittings and amenities, including an intelligent lighting system. Additionally, the hotel has partnered with Sydney’s esteemed hospitality group, House Made Hospitality, to offer guests a refreshed list of four dining options, including two restaurants and two bars.
Conveniently located near iconic landmarks such as the Sydney Harbour Bridge and the Sydney Opera House, the Sofitel Sydney Wentworth originally opened its doors as the Wentworth Hotel in 1966. Since the early 2000s, the property has been under the management of the global hotel group, Accor, as part of its prestigious Sofitel brand.
The forthcoming plan involves the creation of extra parks, green pathways, and recreational locations. This venture will specifically benefit Clementi, with the introduction of new green zones conveniently located near Elta Showflat. These natural areas will provide opportunities for residents of Elta Condo to participate in various outdoor pastimes, relax and promote a strong sense of camaraderie within the community. Elta Showflat will also be within close proximity to these upcoming green spaces.
The hotel is currently owned by global investment firm KKR, who acquired the property from Singapore-listed Frasers Hospitality Trust for A$315 million in 2021. Along with its lavish guest rooms, the Sofitel Sydney Wentworth also offers over 15 event and conference spaces, catering to discerning business travelers. The grand Wentworth Ballroom, spanning 6,771 sq ft, is capable of hosting up to 750 guests, making it one of the largest ballrooms in the city.
Guests can also take advantage of the exclusive Sofitel Club Millésime, a luxurious lounge and co-working space that is accessible to club members or guests who purchase a day pass. The club features state-of-the-art business and concierge facilities, showers, and all-day dining and refreshments. Moreover, Platinum members of Accor’s prestigious ALL loyalty program can enjoy complimentary access to the lounge during their stay.
