Singapore’s top five real estate agency, SRI, has announced the appointment of a new CEO on December 1. Thomas Tan, formerly the COO of ERA Singapore, will be taking on the role. ERA Singapore is the second-largest real estate agency in terms of salesforce and is part of listed company APAC Realty, where Tan served as COO from July 2021 to March 2023.
Prior to his role as COO at ERA, Tan was the company’s chief learning officer (CLO) from March to August 2023. He also served as the CLO at Life Mastery Academy, a course provider for the Real Estate Salesperson (RES) course, which is mandatory for all new real estate agents. Life Mastery Academy is under PropNex, the largest listed real estate agency in terms of salesforce and is accredited by the Council for Estate Agencies (CEA). Tan was with Life Mastery for over a year, joining the firm in March 2020.
Tan has an impressive background in the real estate industry, having been a director and key executive officer of RE Training & Consultancy (RETC), an estate agency in Singapore, for the past eight years. He also held the position of president at the Singapore Estate Agents Association (SEAA). Tan has a wealth of experience in training, having conducted the Real Estate Salesperson and Continuing Professional Development Courses for over 10,000 students at RETC. He was also an associate trainer at Real Centre Network for nine years and spent 12 years at Remax Singapore, a real estate franchise, where he served as an executive director.
SRI’s co-founder and managing partner, Bruce Lye, speaks highly of Tan’s capabilities, stating that he was a successful real estate agent at Remax when they first met 17 years ago. Lye believes that Tan’s background in training and leadership makes him the ideal CEO for SRI. With his vast experience, Tan will be able to introduce a training framework that caters to the agents of SRI.
Excited about his new role, Tan expresses his belief in the potential for growth at SRI and its commitment to building upon its established legacy. The previous CEO of SRI, Tony Koe, had stepped down in June this year after serving as CEO since 2016. With Tan at the helm, SRI is poised for continued success and growth in the real estate industry.
