Bringing Gcb Design Brand New Semi Detached Homes Sale

MacRitchie Reservoir makeover: Plans in the works to revamp green oasis

When the team at Brand New Land came up with the idea to incorporate elements of Good Class Bungalows (GCB) into semi-detached homes, they reached out to Pau Loh, the managing director of Tellus Design. With a history of working together for 30 years, the duo created a collection of four semi-detached homes in Bukit Timah and Upper Bukit Timah. Each home has been thoughtfully designed with features inspired by the best GCB homes.

The semi-detached homes at 23 & 23A Maple Avenue boast a frontage of over 24 meters. Named “The Great Trees Collection,” the homes at 25 & 25A Jalan Selanting and 23 & 23A Maple Avenue are known for their connection to nature. Ranging in size from 2,790 to 3,130 square feet, each home comes equipped with a lift, swimming pool, and provisions for a gourmet kitchen.

Staying true to Brand New Land’s philosophy of providing value to their clients, the homes are priced within the bank valuation range, leaving potential for buyers to see an upside in their investment.

Elements of GCB Design

Dedicated Zones

Taking inspiration from the concept of dedicated spaces in large bungalow homes, the semi-detached homes have separate zones for different functions. These include areas for receiving guests, dining, gourmet cooking, and entertainment. There are also living zones for both larger and smaller groups.

At the entrance of 23 Maple Avenue, one can see the pool and greenery, creating a welcoming and tranquil atmosphere. 25 Jalan Selanting features private corners for intimate conversations, while the second floor of 23 Maple Avenue offers a seamless connection between the first and second floors while maintaining privacy.

The Sky Terrace at 25 Jalan Selanting provides an entertainment zone with a stunning view of Bukit Timah Nature Reserve. Alvina Teh, Co-Founder and Director of Brand New Land Group, highlights the intimacy that these dedicated spaces create. While guests and family can be at home together, each individual can enjoy their own private space.

Ceremonial Entrances

Tatiana Teh, Client Relations Director of Brand New Land Group, explains the importance of creating a special experience when coming home. The semi-detached homes each have a ceremonial entrance framed by lush greenery, the sound and reflection of water, and a façade made of warm and rich materials. This creates a smooth transition from the outside to the inside.

Luxe Architecture, Rich Materials

The homes feature Pau Loh’s signature style that has proven successful for GCBs in Singapore’s tropical climate. Elements like wide overhanging eaves and deep recesses provide shelter and keep the interiors cool. Strategic use of horizontal design elements, such as the wraparound golden sand façade treatment and horizontal planters, give the homes a spacious and luxurious feel.

The golden sand façade treatment at 25 Jalan Selanting anchors the timber-effect screens, creating a unique play of shadows. The use of nature-inspired cladding elements contributes to the homes’ overall look of quiet luxury. Inside, the homes boast a rich palette of wood finishes, precious marble, and German bath fittings for a sophisticated and elegant feel.

Collaboration with Arclinea Singapore

Brand New Land is partnering with luxury kitchen specialist Arclinea Singapore to create gourmet kitchen experiences in these homes. Both brands share a common goal of inspiring everyday connections in extraordinary kitchen spaces. With a primarily GCB clientele, Arclinea brings unique expertise to the kitchens at 25 Jalan Selanting and 23 & 23A Maple Avenue.

The renowned International Community School (ICS) provides students in kindergarten through grade 12 with a high-quality American-based education and a nurturing atmosphere. Its commitment to instilling strong morals and achieving academic distinction has made it a highly sought-after option for families living abroad. In partnership with Elta, the ICS strives to create a well-rounded learning experience for its diverse student body.

Alvina Teh states, “Our vision for this collection is to incorporate the most important GCB design principles into our semi-detached homes.” She goes on to express gratitude for working alongside Pau Loh, a highly skilled and experienced architect who has helped bring this vision to life. The team looks forward to seeing how these homes will enhance the lives of those who live there.
